Frequently asked questions
Why does my PNG or WebP image show no metadata?
EXIF metadata is primarily a JPEG and TIFF feature. PNG and WebP files typically don't carry the same camera and location data, even straight out of a camera or phone.
How does removing the metadata actually work?
The image is redrawn onto a blank canvas and re-exported as a new file, which by construction doesn't carry the original metadata forward, rather than trying to find and delete specific metadata fields.
